RENTER INFORMATION

 Beginning January, 2005 all rental properties in the town must be registered. The Town of Narragansett will collect a yearly fee of $10 per bedroom for every rental property.

Bonnet Shores Fire District Renter Information

  • Parking is prohibited on any streets or roads in Bonnet Shores.

  • Speed Limit 25.

  • Loitering or use of alcoholic beverages in recreational areas or District Property within Bonnet Shores Fire District is prohibited. 

  • Littering in any areas of Bonnet Shores Fire District is prohibited.

  • All dogs must be leashed.   No dogs on the beach.

  • All dog droppings must be picked up.

  • Sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in Bonnet Shores Fire District.

  • Winter Trash Pick-up on Monday.

  • Summer Trash Pick-up Monday.

  • Having a party?  Notify neighbors and provide for parking on your property.

TIPS FOR STUDENT    HINTS FOR RESIDENT 

 

Welcome back to URI!!! Classes have begun and we hope that you have made a smooth transition from summer and are enjoying your new home.

 Here are some tips that may aid you in enjoying a peaceful, safe and successful academic year. 

u Introduce yourself to your neighbors and give them your phone number in the event that they need to reach you.

u Be responsible when inviting guests over:
 -   Notify neighbors when having a party.
 -   Keep the bass down on your stereo.
 -   Keep guest inside to reduce down noise.
 -   Advise guests of local parking bans.
 -   Ensure that everyone has a designated driver
          if alcohol is served. If a drunk driver injures
          someone after drinking at your home, you 
          maybe liable.
 -   Be sure that anyone consuming alcohol is 21
          years of age.
 -  Cleanup the area around the house after a party.

URI students heavily populate the Narragansett area from September to May. As the years pass, year round residents are faced with different neighbors with a variety of needs and interests.

In order to establish and maintain an enjoyable environment for everyone, here are some helpful hints.

u Introduce yourself to your new student neighbors.

u Advise the students of any special circumstances you may have.

u Get the phone numbers of student neighbors to keep the lines of communication open.

u Realize that you, the Narragansett community and URI students all have a role in creating enjoyable living arrangements.

u Use the URI Commuter Housing Office Hotline 874-5393 to speak with someone about problems or concerns regarding student neighbors or in case of an emergency, call the Narragansett Police at 789-1091.
